Arsenal Fans praise Saka and White during Anfield outing
Arsenal fans wasted no time taking to Twitter to heap praise on Gunners pair Bukayo Saka and Ben White after the England international duo worked their socks off on the Anfield pitch during the 0-0 draw against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg.
White was arguably the best performer on the pitch for Mikel Arteta’s young guns on Merseyside (7.4 match rating via Whoscored, 7.6 match rating via Sofascore), winning 60% of his ground duels while completing three interceptions, three blocks, three tackles, and five clearances on the night which resulted in him being awarded Man of the Match.

Though Saka was replaced by Nuno Tavares in the 81st-minute after running himself ragged, the Arsenal academy product once again led from the front and by example while showcasing his technical qualities and ability to be one of the brightest talents in the league on his day. And Arsenal fans agreed;
Whatever happens in these last 15 minutes, this Arsenal side have put in one hell of an effort tonight. All fighting for each other. Saka and White exceptional.

Saka is a mentality monster. Look at him. Nothing fazes him.

Saka has worked so hard tonight. Everything positive we did going forward went through him.

Saka not only playing so well here but showing a maturity well ahead of his years.
Captain’s kind of performance, this.

Weird quirk of Arteta’s tenure that, whenever Arsenal have set up with a deep-lying defence, they have been really good at it. It’s obviously not the grand masterplan in the long-term but it’s been very effective against big teams. Ben White was superb

Ben White ????????????????????????????????????

Liverpool left frustrated with a goalless draw
Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool went into the Anfield changing rooms frustrated after the Reds failed to make a 66-minute man-advantage count on the scoresheet as they now must travel to the Emirates at evens for the second-leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final tie.

Despite veteran Swiss international midfielder Granit Xhaka gifting Liverpool a man advantage after a moment of madness when he brought down Diogo Jota with the Portuguese international in a one-on-one situation against Aaron Ramsdale, Klopp’s troops could not find a solution to bag at least a goal in front of the home support while utilizing a nearly full-strength XI.
Liverpool had their chances as well, registering 14-shots to Arsenal’s three but failing to put a single one on frame while also boasting almost 78% of the ball throughout proceedings.
For Arsenal, it was a massive result against a perennial title favorite but Liverpool heads into their weekend clash with Brentford with it all to prove after their title challenge has begun to slip away.
