Word stemming from the Brazilian media late on Friday evening spells altogether bad news for those of a Leeds United persuasion.
Raphinha shining
Leeds, of course, have endured a campaign to forget to date.
After impressing the masses en route to a top-half finish in their debut campaign back in the top-flight of English football last time out, the Peacocks have since suffered a major case of ‘2nd season syndrome’.
Marcelo Bielsa’s troops currently sit 16th in the Premier League table, boasting just three wins all term, and in the knowledge that results elsewhere could soon see them dragged into a very real relegation dogfight.

Amid the alarming dip in performance on Leeds’ part, though, one shining light has remained throughout, in the form of Raphinha.
Brazilian wide-man Raphinha has continued to light up the Premier League landscape over the early months of the campaign, chipping in with eight goals across 16 appearances, one of few reasons the Whites have not yet been dragged into the drop zone.
Bayern bound?
It will therefore no doubt come as altogether alarming news for the Leeds faithful to hear that, upon the opening of the January transfer window next month, the club’s star man could well be on the move.
This is if the latest word stemming from his home country of Brazil is anything to go by, anyway.
As per a report from TNT Sports Brasil, citing exclusive information collected by Bruno Formiga, Raphinha is all set to make the move to Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich this winter.
The transfer is expected to set Bayern back a fee of around 50 million euro.
The inside info obtained comes by way of Avai, with whom Raphinha spent time developing as a youngster. This comes with the Brazilian outfit understood to have already budgeted their cut of the Leeds star’s transfer fee – 1.5 million euro – into the club’s budget for 2022.
