A brilliant photograph of on-loan Arsenal defender William Saliba challenging Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe has gone viral across social media over the last 24 hours.
Spoils shared at the Velodrome
Saliba was of course back in action on Sunday night.
After Spanish football’s two biggest clubs did battle earlier in the day, their equivalents from France did likewise at the Stade Velodrome.
In the latest edition of the famed Classique, Marseille played host to Ligue 1 table-toppers PSG, aiming to close the gap on Mauricio Pochettino’s men to seven points.
When all was said and done in the south of France, however, ultimately, both sides were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.
The matchup’s highlights included a pair of disallowed goals during the first-half, Achraf Hakimi’s dismissal shortly after the interval, and a Lionel Messi-led PSG attack being halted by a pitch invader:

Saliba’s standout moment
As outlined above, though, with a full 24 hours having now passed since proceedings were brought to a close in the Classique, the name of Marseille defender William Saliba has continued to turn heads online.
On-loan Arsenal talent Saliba was utilised from the off on Sunday, and went on to more than hold his own up against the might of PSG’s star-studded frontline.
Some even went as far as to suggest post-match that the Frenchman stood as the evening’s standout performer.
