Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Bruno Lage has, on Thursday afternoon, provided an insight into the kind of financial outlay likely to be required by any club hopeful of landing midfielder Ruben Neves.
Portuguese international Neves is of course in the midst of another fine campaign to date.
Prior to picking up a long-term injury problem late in March, the 25-year-old had started in all but two of Wolves’ Premier League fixtures, continuing to conduct proceedings with near-incomparable ease from his deep-lying midfield berth.
Not only that, but Neves’ contributions proved telling further up the pitch, too, en route to four goals and two assists across his 26 appearances to date.
Such efforts, in turn, have led to altogether inevitable speculation of late that Wolves’ star man has been added to the summer wishlists of a number of English football heavyweights.
Chief amongst such suitors are understood to be Manchester United and Arsenal, both primed for midfield reinforcement ahead of next season.
If any such club is genuinely hopeful of striking a deal for Neves, though, then they will need to pay up.
This comes with Bruno Lage, when drawn on the future of his side’s midfield metronome during a press conference on Thursday, having confirmed that ‘a player like Ruben Neves has a value of £100m’.

Turning attentions back towards matters on the pitch, Wolves will of course be back in Premier League action this coming weekend.
As the campaign continues to inch towards its imminent close, the Midlands outfit are set to welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Molineux, eyeing a return to winning ways.
This comes with Lage and co. fresh off the back of successive defeats over the course of the last couple of weeks, dealing a major blow to the club’s hopes of securing European football for next season.
