Women’s Tennis Falls in Spring Opener at Army West Point

WEST POINT, N.Y. — The Stony Brook women’s tennis team was not able to take home a win in its spring opener, dropping a 7-0 decision to Army West Point on Saturday morning in the curtain-raiser on its dual match campaign.

A night after the scheduled opener against St. Bonaventure was canceled due to weather, the Black Knights proved to be too much for the Seawolves on opening weekend.

Dondonay/Ahn DNF L. Rubio/Theys, 3-4

Jackson def. Sreeves 6-0, 6-2

Dondonay def. L. Rubio 1-6, 6-2, 10-7

Gilbert def. Joshi 6-1, 6-4

Herremans def. Medved 6-1, 6-1

Feali def. C. Rubio 6-0, 6-1

UP NEXT

The Seawolves next weekend of action sends them to Seton Hall and Lehigh for Friday and Saturday dual matches. 

Stony Brook will take on the Pirates Friday then travel to Bethlehem, Pa., for its Lehigh matchup on Saturday.
